Honestly idk that I’d call it “one the most influential information arteries” anymore, & it’s too bad more people haven’t just closed their accounts & moved on. With each person that does, the influence he does have dwindles

No...they were just lucky enough to make a lot of money. Some--like Musk--have the additional skill identifier of being Excellent Bullshit Artists. Beyond that, they have no outstanding skills and no great insights. They have rings of Yes People around them psychologically fellating them and saying how masterful they are--people who were bullied as children (and most tech bros were) are as bad as many FFK's when it comes to seeing themselves as hotter than bacon grease. We, as a culture, are to blame for the Musks, Zucks, Bezos' thinking they are significantly more than they are.
